چکیده

Image quality demands have been investigated for different applications of stereoscopic evaluation. For that purpose, the quality of image pairs was judged by experienced stereo operators in subjective sc ales for contrast, sharpness, granularity, interpretability and overall quality. The judgment was made in real working situations with the images oriented in stereo instruments. The result showed different demands for different applications. It is being used for deriving frequency weight functions for integration of modulation transfer functions into image quality marks. The frequency weight functions will be a useful basis for further investigations into the dependence of subjective quality upon the frequency content of images.

Quality Assessmentof Screen Content Images

Research on Screen Content Images (SCIs) has become important as they are used frequently in multi-device communication applications. Perceptual quality is assessed for distorted SCIs subjectively and objectively. A screen image quality assessment database (SIQAD) consisting of 20 source and 980 distorted SCIs is constructed. A subjective quality scores is used for estimating which part (text o...

A Survey On Different Approaches Used In Image Quality Assessment

Image quality assessment means estimating the quality of an image and it is used for many image processing applications. Image quality can be measured in two ways, subjective and objective method. Objective method is more preferable than subjective because most of the time the original image is not available for the comparison and it is not that much expensive like the subjective method. These ...

Objective and Subjective Assessment of Digital Pathology Image Quality

The quality of an image produced by the Whole Slide Imaging (WSI) scanners is of critical importance for using the image in clinical diagnosis. Therefore, it is very important to monitor and ensure the quality of images. Since subjective image quality assessments by pathologists are very time-consuming, expensive and difficult to reproduce, we propose a method for objective assessment based on ...

Image Enhancement Using an Adaptive Un-sharp Masking Method Considering the Gradient Variation

Technical limitations in image capturing usually impose defective, such as contrast degradation. There are different approaches to improve the contrast of an image. Among the exiting approaches, un-sharp masking is a popular method due to its simplicity in implementation and computation. There is an important parameter in un-sharp masking, named gain factor, which affects the quality of the enh...
